  • 1 bottle red wine
    2 tbsp NoMU Sweet Rub
    1 cinnamon stick
    300 ml brown sugar
    1 cup water
    Juice of 1 orange

Gluwein Granitas

These melt-in-the-mouth, very simple to make desserts are perfect for the busy festive season. The texture of a granita is meant to be icy and crunchy, not smooth like a sorbet.

Place the red wine, sugar, water, orange juice, Sweet Rub and cinnamon stick in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce the liquid by half. Pour into a shallow metal container and allow to cool before placing in it in the freezer. After 2 hours remove from the freezer and stir up the mixture with a fork. Return the granita to the freezer until set. This will take another 2 hours.
