Preheat the top grill of your oven or your salamander, if you have one.
Place the bread on a baking tray and grill one side until nicely browned.
Remove from the oven, turn the bread over and spread the untoasted side generously with Stir. Place the cheese on top and grill in the oven until the cheese has melted and gone a rich golden colour. Season with freshly ground black pepper and eat while still hot.
