- 150g frozen or fresh assorted berries
- 4 tablespoons caster sugar
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornflour, slaked in a little cold water
- 50ml water
Berry Compote
Combine the berries, sugar, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar and 50ml water in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Turn down the heat and cook for a few minutes. Take the pan off the heat and stir in the cornflour. Pour mixture into a jug and serve with chosen dessert.
